All children develop at different rates, and some begin to exceed in some areas and not in others. We have a highly qualified team of Practitioners who can offer support and are sensitive to those children. As we have thorough monitoring processes we can easily see when children are working towards their Early Learning Goal sooner than others. For example, we are mindful that whilst a child might be exceeding in their phonetical understanding and showing signs of early reading, they might lack confidence in their interactions with other children and adults within the Pre-school. We would always have conversations with parents to discuss how we can work together. In this case we would suggest that we would focus on the interactions and social skills at Pre School whist parents would continue to support the early reading as this will result in their all-round development. The Pre School would also use opportunities through play that would also encourage the early reading whenever appropriate.
